Distribution centres

PostNL is delivering an increasing number of parcels. This means that its logistical infrastructure needs to be adapted. Together with Aan de Stegge Bedrijfshuisvesting from Twello, Kamplacon has been commissioned to build new distribution centres in Kolham, Den Hoorn, Goes, Halfweg, Opmeer and Zwolle.

Fewer letters, more parcels

The mail delivery market has changed significantly in recent years. Fewer and fewer letters are being sent, while the number of parcels is on the increase. This has prompted PostNL to reorganise its logistics. The 4 sorting centres and 37 distribution centres it has at present are therefore being replaced with 18 depots. Together with Aan de Stegge from Twello, Kamplacon is building the new sorting and distribution centres in Kolham, Den Hoorn, Goes, Halfweg, Opmeer and Zwolle.

The depots, which are U-shaped, each comprise around 5,500 m2 of industrial space and 500 m2 of office space. Efficiency, safety and sustainability were the three key values underpinning the construction of the new depots.

Kamplacon – construction partner for roof and façade cladding

As the construction partner of Aan de Stegge Twello, Kamplacon is equipping the depots with roof and façade cladding, as well as skylights and elements that allow daylight to enter the buildings from above. We have opted for various materials and installation methods.

The multi-layer walls are made up of horizontally installed cassettes. On the inside a light colour is used and mineral wool is employed to ensure optimum insulation. The outside is finished using sinusoidal profiles in the colours RAL 9003 and RAL 7016. Sandwich panels filled with rock wool are also used on the outside. These are in the colours RAL 9006 and RAL 9003 and are installed horizontally. Rock-wool-filled sandwich panels are also employed on the inside. Here we are alternating between solid and perforated panels to ensure better acoustics.
